University Libraries Announces Kelsey Badger as Research Data Librarian

Kelsey Badger is joining the faculty of University Libraries as the Research Data Librarian. Her appointment begins on June 6.

In this role, she will lead the development of a programmatic approach to research data services for Libraries. Kelsey will also provide support and education for students and faculty on the use of secondary data and will assist researchers with data management plans. She will work with stakeholders and researchers across campus and the larger scholarly community to facilitate research data discovery, use and stewardship. She will report to the Head of Research Services.

Kelsey will receive her M.S. in Information Sciences from the University of Tennessee in May 2022 and most recently served as a graduate intern with the U.S. Geological Survey’s Community for Data Integration. Previously, she managed child welfare data at the intersection of government social services and academic research at the Erikson Institute Graduate School in Chicago.
