For Faculty, Graduate Students, and Independent Scholars

Research AwardsThe Libraries offers various awards to support research projects that require substantial on-site use of our distinctive collections. These awards are open to graduate students, faculty, and independent scholars who need to travel to the Ohio State University’s main campus to advance their research.


For OSU Faculty

TOME@Ohio State Open Access Monograph Initiative - Under this initiative, peer-reviewed and professionally edited university press humanities and humanistic social sciences monographs will be funded through partnering universities and published as Open Access digital editions, available at no cost to the public.


For Undergraduates

Undergraduate Research Library Fellowship - The award, up to $4,000, is open to undergraduate students studying any major who meet requirements for enrollment and time commitment.

Rudolph Student Book Collecting Awards - This biannual essay contest offers three prizes for undergraduate students to encourage young people to develop an interest in books and to pursue collections of their own.

University Libraries Student Employee Scholarship - As part of University Libraries’ commitment to equipping students for lifelong success through educationally purposeful student employment, Libraries awards ten $1,000 scholarships annually to student employees in recognition of their exceptional work.
