What are inclusive citation practices? Inclusive citation has been described as “an approach to citing the intellectual and creative work of individuals and groups with a diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Inclusive citation works to counteract dominant power structures that have historically privileged certain groups while disadvantaging others” (Rowan University). This workshop, presented by Jane Hammons, Teaching & Learning Engagement Librarian, will explore the concept of inclusive citation and why it matters. Participants will leave with resources and activities that they can share with their students in support of inclusive citation practices.

For those affiliated with Ohio State, this workshop counts as credit toward the Teaching Information Literacy endorsement from the Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning and/or the Inclusive Teaching Endorsement

This virtual program will include automated captioning. If you require an accommodation such as live captioning or interpretation to participate in this event, please email libevents@osu.edu as soon as possible. Requests made at least one week prior to the event will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
