The OSU Manga Collection

The Ohio State University has one of the world’s largest collections of manga and manga-related materials outside of Japan! With some 30,000 volumes of manga and ephemera — including advertisements, posters, and original art — our world-class collection celebrates print manga dating back to the Edo Period (1603-1868) to the present. While contemporary and popular manga titles are available for circulation in our general collections, many of our historical and rare manga are held at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum. For help locating and accessing specific titles or manga art, please visit our manga library resource guide or contact Japanese Studies Librarian and Curator of Manga, Dr. Ann Marie Davis.
