The 71,385 fans in attendance were greeted before kickoff with patriotic speeches, song, and a 21-gun salute. Vendors that day sold 10,000 hot dogs, 70,000 bottled sodas, 8,000 boxes of Cracker Jacks, 70 gallons of coffee, and 25 gallons of mustard. During the game, Michigan’s all-purpose back Harry Kipke put on a punting clinic, consistently stranding the Buckeyes deep in their own territory; Kipke also had two interceptions, returning one 40 yards for a touchdown. Michigan won, 19-0.
