- Summary
- Snow scene with a row of cabins, in center, in which doors on right side are all open and there are groups of footprints leading away. At far right, a set of footprints leads to what appears to be departing troops. At far left, Newt Gingrich, dressed in Revolutionary War military uniform, walks, facing left, and yells “Assemble the troops!"
- Description
- Single monochrome panel.
- Title appears as it is written on the item.
- After the death of his son Jake in 1996, Jeff MacNelly included his name in a number of his cartoons. Jake MacNelly was an aspiring editorial cartoonist himself and admired caricaturist Al Hershfeld, who would hide his daughter Nina's name in his cartoons. "Jake" can be seen in the trees to the right of Gingrich in this cartoon.
