- In 1980, Howard Brookner, director and film producer, interviewed William S. Burroughs for his film, titled “Burroughs: The Movie,” a documentary about Burroughs’ life and work. Side A: In this recording, dated as October 23, 1980, Burroughs and his companions gather for dinner and conversation at the Chelsea Hotel in New York City. They discuss a variety of topics including canes, the author, Jacques Stern, Broadway, the film "Heart Beat," dogs, and Burroughs' new book. Side B: In this recording, Burroughs and his companions discuss a variety of topics including leases, book publication, Andy Warhol's and Paul Morrissey's film, "Chelsea Girls," canes, Burroughs' tenure at the Chelsea Hotel, and his interview there with the BBC Arena film crew.
