  • Letter from Mascot (located in Buenos Aires) addressed to Billie and Nondas (located in Chicago, IL). She mentions receiving their letter of Nov. 12, 1918, and that Christmas was a sad and lonely time for her. She mentions sending a card for the New Year, but does not yet describe the events of the "Semana Trágica," January 7-14, 1919, which is mentioned in the letter of February 3. She has been quite ill, and although she finally got her passport, can not yet afford to travel back home to the U.S. She is back in Buenos Aires to work and save money, preparing a "big Russian ballet." (Likely one of two letters enclosed in an envelope postmarked Rio de Janeiro, February 11, 1919)
