  • This orange cover has a large cachet on the left indicating that it was mailed at the Boston Navy Yard, which was the point of depature of the 2nd Byrd Expedition on the Jacob Rupert. It was created by the Chacet Cover Committee of Boston, Massachusetts. It is postmarked Boston Mass Navy Yard Sta. and has an oval, Locy Type 6 killer over a <a href="http://www.arago.si.edu/index.asp?con=1&cmd=1&tid=2033019" target="_blank">National Recovery Act 3-cent stamp</a>. Like <a href="https://byrdpolarmedia.osu.edu/kq7AXTFof">byrdartifact 475_34_16</a>, this cover is also addressed to Mr. Leroy Clark, the Assistant Postmaster who hand canceled much of the mail sent to Little America. Postmarked: October 11, 1935 - 7 AM
