  • This poster features photos of Bob Flagler and Richard Byrd and a drawn map showing the radio signal path from Alaska to the South Pole. Poster reads:Postal Telegraph / Photo-News Service / BOB FLAGLER, who has been sent to northwestern Alaska for first broadcast linking Arctic and Antarctic. / ADMIRAL BYRD, at his lonely Antarctic camp, 123 miles south of Little America, will try to reply to the Arctic. / (c) W. W. Studio from E. S. Co. / One of Radio's Most Difficult and Spectacular Feats Is Set for Wednesday Night, July 11th. / An attempt will be made to stage a two-way broadcast between a point within the Arctic Circle and the Byrd Expedition in the Antarctic. Map shows the circuit voices will follow in the 17,000-mile hop from one end of the world to the other. This newest radio thrill will come during the regular weekly radio contact with the Byrd Expedition on Wednesday night over Columbia network at 9 o'clock, eastern standard time.
