Summary
  • In the first strip Annie is talking about Uncle Joe and Mr. Bill Brevier and how they know each other. Bill stood up for Joe when the big trouble came. A lot of readers complained that Joe's last serial was fiction but too real to the truth. In the second strip Annie is talking with Mr. George as he puts up an American flag on Flag Day. She tells Mr. George she is amazed he is celebrating Flag Day because he is a foreigner. He tells her he chose this land and this is the flag he will live and die for. He, along with others are no longer slaves but now free Americans.
