  • Maw Green: Maw Green is asking a man if all he thinks about is profits. He tells her spending is easy but you have to have it to spend it. She tells him she would rather spend time with friends. She tells him "A man's best friend is a dollar!"
  • Little Orphan Annie: One man is telling another the war is hurting his business. The other man tells him maybe he doesn't know how to run a business. He hopes the war continues because he is making more money now. The first man slugs the second because his sons have either died in the war or are still fighting in it. The police arrive and Annie tells him it's better to let them work it out. She calls it the "democratic processes."
