- Maw Green: Maw Green asks Mrs. Mousetrap how her husband is. She tells Maw he isn't feeling great. Maw thinks he needs a vacation. Mrs. Mousetrap tells Maw he gave up smoking a month ago. Maw tells her it takes faith and will power to give up smoking. Mrs. Mousetrap tells Maw she has the willpower.
- Little Orphan Annie: They have finally gotten to the bottom of the well. They need a chain to bring up what they found. It is a steel drum sealed tight addressed to Judge Silas. The question is where is Mr. Gudge. Annie says Shanghai is smarter than they thought.
