- In 1974, William S. Burroughs taught a course on creative writing at City College of New York (CCNY). Side A: In this lecture, dated February 15, 1974, Burroughs discusses the course's theme of authorship. He focuses on the human brain, lecturing on thought and thinking, the different functions of the brain, the power of emotions, instincts, and the possiblities of what may occur when melding the brain with technology such as automation of emotion, rudimentary forms of mind control (of plants) and the creation of more efficient organisms.
