The Expeditionary Records series, dated 1918-1965, contains correspondence, radiograms, supply lists, reports, articles, financial records, personnel files, logbooks, and postal covers that are related to the expeditions that Byrd led or participated in from 1925-1957. Materials in this series relate to the planning, events and results of these expeditions. The Expeditionary Records series is divided into eleven subseries: Donald MacMillan Expedition; North Pole Flight; Trans-Atlantic Flight; Byrd Antarctic Expedition I; Byrd Antarctic Expedition II; United States Antarctic Service; Operation Highjump; Operation Highjump II (cancelled); Operation Deep Freeze; Operation Deep Freeze II; and Other Expeditionary Records.
