Sir George Hubert Wilkins Papers
Digital Collection PublicThe Sir George Hubert Wilkins Papers, dated 1853-2015, with a bulk of the materials dating circa 1905-1959, include correspondence, maps, charts, reports, photographs, newspaper clippings, artifacts and other materials documenting Wilkins's career as a photographer, polar explorer, aviator, and consultant to the United States Military. Included in the collection are 8mm, 16mm, and 35mm films, magnetic audiotapes, phonograph records, and VHS videocassette, DVD and audiocassette use copies documenting Wilkins' expeditions and other activities such as his military testing, personal life, interviews and his wife Suzanne's singing. The collection also contains correspondence and biographical material of Suzanne Wilkins, files concerning Wilkins interest in telepathy and extrasensory perception, and files of the Wilkins Memorial Foundation, which was formed in 1981, after Wilkins' death.
