The Visual Editor is known as a WYSIWYG editor, which stands for “What You See Is What You Get.” To ensure that you’re using the visual editor, select Visual tab at the top of the text editor box. The visual editor icons allow you to format text, change font alignment, insert bulleted and numbered lists, and more.

There are two rows of editing icons contained within the visual editor. You can find out what any icon means or does by hovering over it with your mouse – a small tooltip will appear describing the icon and its purpose.

To enable both rows of icons:

Text Editor

The text editor has fewer options, but allows you to write your posts in HTML. This editing mode is aimed at users who are comfortable working with HTML.
