The Charles Henry Summerson Papers contain a notebook of drawings of fossils and their identifications, grouped by geologic period and including classification charts. The collection also contains an oral history interview transcript and audiocassettes. Interview discussion topics include the U.S. Geological survey as it applied to Ohio geology, the development of the Department of Geodetic Science, and Summerson's involvement in other projects at Ohio State University.

The Ivan I. Mueller Papers contain correspondence, conference files, research notes, publications, class information, files on the history of the Department of Geodetic Science, manuscripts, and material on the International Union for Surveys and Mapping.

Much of the material relates to individual departments within the college, including physics, geology and mineralogy, chemistry, astronomy, geodetic science, and mathematics.
