The Al Jaffee Sampling of Correspondence is a small collection, about six folders of fan mail letters from 1981 to 2002, with the bulk of the material dating from 1981 to 1982. It contains letters to Jaffee; it does not contain his reply. The two folders of correspondence with Mad and other cartoonists contains letters from cartoonists such as Mort Walker, Morrie Turner, and Arnold Roth. Of particular intereste is a October 15, 1990 reply from Charles Schulz to Al Jaffee (folder 6). Other items include routine correspondence to Mad contributors. In 2003, Jaffee donated a audio cassette recording of an interview he conducted with Toni Mendez, a cartoonists' and writers' agent on her role within the founding of the National Cartoonists Society.
