Research Commons Team
Meris Mandernach Longmeier is the head of Research Services. In this role she develops services for University Libraries to support the research endeavors of all faculty, staff and students at Ohio State. Longmeier sets the vision and oversees the services provided through the Libraries’ Research Commons, based in 18th Avenue Library. She supports subject librarians, special collections curators and other faculty and staff in the libraries to anticipate user needs and brainstorm programs to benefit their research. Previously she has held positions at James Madison University (Harrisonburg, VA) and Loyola University Chicago.
E. Leigh Bonds is an associate professor and the digital humanities librarian. She consults with faculty and students on research and teaching, teaches digital humanities praxis and pedagogy, collaborates on projects and coordinates the campus digital humanities network.
Taiwo Lasisi is the Visiting Assistant Professor and Digital Research Services Librarian at University Libraries. She offers interdisciplinary consultations and instruction sessions on qualitative research design, qualitative coding, data storytelling, sustainability, community engagement and qualitative data visualization through the Research Commons.
Joshua Sadvari is the Geospatial Information Librarian at University Libraries. In this role, Sadvari is responsible for developing and delivering educational activities to support the use of geographic information systems (GIS) in research and teaching and for acting as a project consultant for faculty, staff and students from all disciplines who are working with geospatial data, methods and tools. Through his work, Sadvari saves researchers time by connecting them with appropriate geospatial information resources at their point of need and helps them to effectively use GIS in impactful ways in their scholarship.
Sarah Murphy is the data literacy and visualization librarian and a professor at University Libraries. Murphy helps individuals and teams communicate effectively using various analytics and visualization tools. She is a passionate about Tableau and shares her expertise with students and researchers across the university. Murphy offers data visualization workshops, consultations and training through the Research Commons.
Kelsey Badger is the Research Data Librarian and an assistant professor at University Libraries. Through consultations, training, advocacy and collaborative initiatives, she supports best practices in research data management and sharing, tools and workflows for scientific reproducibility and the discovery and (re)use of open and proprietary data sources. Previously, Badger has supported data management through positions in academia as well as state and federal government, including the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and the U.S. Geological Survey.
Sheila Craft-Morgan is the Research Impact Librarian. She leads the development of systematic, scalable approaches that support scholarly research impact within the research lifecycle. Craft-Morgan also supports faculty, staff and students in managing, communicating and promoting the impact of their research projects.
Johanna Meetz is the Publishing and Repository Services Librarian and an assistant professor at University Libraries. In her role, she oversees the Knowledge Bank, Ohio State's institutional repository, and University Libraries' publishing program, which publishes open access journals.
Kristin Henkaline is the Program Manager for the Research Commons in University Libraries. In her role, she plans, implements and manages services for the Research Commons. In addition, she leads the development and implementation of program policies and assessment and evaluation strategies for Research Commons spaces and services.
Jarod Ogier is the Public Services Coordinator for the Research Commons at University Libraries. He oversees the public spaces on the 3rd floor of the 18th Avenue Library, supporting graduate students, postdocs and faculty. Ogier also assists with both virtual and in-person events hosted by the Research Services Department.
Jessica St-Pierre is the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist at University Libraries. In this role, she develops educational support for faculty, students and researchers using geospatial data, methods and tools. St-Pierre helps researchers and project teams understand and apply GIS in their research and instruction through consultations and a variety of educational programming. Previously, she served as a GIS Project Manager working on projects across a wide range of industries and research topics.
Brandon Scholten is the Research Technology and Digital Services Analyst for the Research Commons at University Libraries. He oversees the in-person and remote computer labs, supporting students with access to software. Scholten works on a variety of projects involving emerging technologies, technical workshops and consultations and the development of processes for using technology within the Research Commons.
