TRI Ira Aldridge Fund

Established to support the University Libraries Theatre Research Institute’s efforts to acquire, preserve, and promote the work of underrepresented voices in the performing arts. The fund is named in honor of actor, playwright, and theatre manager Ira Aldridge (1807-1867). He was the first black actor to portray Othello on the London stage and the first African American actor to achieve international success.
The Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Theatre Research Institute Library Endowment Fund

Established December 6, 1990, by Mr. Lawrence, Mr. Lee, friends and supporters of the Institute. Income supports the position of curator, acquisition and preservation of the collection and the operation and administration of the Institute.
Donating Materials
The majority of the Lawrence and Lee Theatre Research Institute holdings have been acquired through generous donations of collections and endowment funds supporting collections, access, and programming. Acquisition decisions are based on relevance to the collection development focuses, research value of the material, relationship to other materials, and costs of acquiring, preserving, housing, and making accessible the material. Gifts that require extraordinary resources are reviewed in accordance with OSU Libraries’ Gifts-in-Kind Review Policy.
