Call for Proposals for 2018 Research Awards
For 2018, The Ohio State University Libraries’ Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Theatre Research Institute will provide two monetary awards to support research projects that require substantial on-site use of our collections.

AVAILABLE RESEARCH AWARDS:
Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Theatre Research Institute Research Award:
Funded by a bequest from Jerome Lawrence, the Lawrence and Lee Theatre Research Institute Research Award of up to $3,000 supports research in the performing arts grounded in the collections of the Theatre Research Institute. A selected list of holdings with brief collection descriptions may be found at the Institute website, http://go.osu.edu/tri.
Irwin and Jane Spector Research Award:
Funded by the Irwin and Jane Spector Endowed Fund, this award of up to $3,000 supports research that requires significant use of the Lawrence and Lee Theatre Research Institute’s collections on Dalcroze Eurhythmics.

These awards are open to non-OSU graduate students, faculty, and independent scholars who are at least 18 years old and live more than 60 miles from the Ohio State University’s main campus.
A complete application consists of
- a statement not to exceed two pages describing the research project, the relevance to the particular collection the applicant intends to use, and the expected outcome of the research;
- a summary curriculum vitae/resume not to exceed three pages including name, title, education, and contact information;
- one letter of recommendation
ANNOUNCEMENT OF DECISIONS:
Decisions will be emailed to applicants by April 30, 2018. Queries about applications in process cannot be acknowledged. Award recipients and their research projects will be recognized in University Libraries’ publicity.
Recipients of 2018 awards must complete their research by June 30, 2019.
Recipients will share their work with the university community through an open presentation, blog post, or other appropriate means.
Products of research will give credit to the individual special collection and a copy of any publication resulting from or informed by research will be submitted to the unit.
