You are invited to the Fall Teaching Showcase and Discussion, hosted by the Teaching & Learning Committee on December 9 from noon – 1:15 p.m. The event will feature several short presentations from colleagues who will describe work they have been doing this past summer and fall:
- Courtney Hunt (Art & Design Librarian) will describe her efforts to develop a flipped instruction model for a large introductory course on contemporary art.
- Anna Biszaha (Research and Education Librarian in the Health Sciences Library) will describe the development of a series of four LibWizard tutorials as part of a new longitudinal competency for medical students.
- Danny Dotson (Head, Geology Library) will describe his project to develop new LibGuides for courses in areas including Math, Stats and Computer Science and Engineering.
- Stephanie Porrata (MPK Diversity Resident Librarian) will describe her research focused on LibGuides and Social Justice, which she developed into an award-winning ALAO poster presentation.
In addition, there will be a discussion period in which you will have a chance to share your own successes and challenges related to instruction or outreach and discuss your plans for next semester.
