How to post .ics files on a blog
Step 1) Open Microsoft Outlook and create an event.
Step 2) Select the event, and go to File -> Save As
Step 3) Save the event as an iCalendar File
Step 4) Go to WordPress and create the blog post you want the .ics file to be on.
Step 5) Click “Add Media”
Step 6) Click “Select Files” and choose the .ics file you created in step 3.
Step 7) Click “Insert Into Post”
Step 8) The .ics file is now in the post. You can now make the rest of the post just like a regular blog post and publish it like normal.
People can now just click on the link in the post.
Viewers can save the file. Once they open the file Outlook will open. All they need to do is hit “Save & Close” to add the event to their calendar.
