The preservation and stewardship of digital scholarship depends on metadata – as does its discovery, access, and use.

What role does metadata play in supporting and sustaining digital scholarship?

In an occasional series of posts I will address that question and discuss the metadata services we provide in support of digital scholarship and programs, including services for the Knowledge Bank, OSU’s open access repository. Post topics related to how metadata interacts with digital scholarship will include author and object identification, preservation metadata, linked and open data, file naming, data curation, metadata reuse, and more.

I hope to publish once per month. Comments, questions, and suggestions are welcome.
