Paterson Hall
The Board of Trustees named Paterson Hall upon its completion on December 13, 1954, in honor of Alma Paterson. The building was dedicated on May 7, 1955.
Alma Paterson was an alumna of Ohio State and the first woman to serve on its Board of Trustees. As an undergraduate, Paterson was a member of the Browning Dramatic Society and studied science and physical education. She received her bachelor of arts degree in 1904 and went on to serve as director of physical education for women for three years. Mrs. Paterson was appointed to the Board in 1924 to succeed the late OSU Prof. Thomas Mendenhall. She served until 1933.
