Adorned with a cattle insignia on its facade, the Animal Science Building was completed in December 1960 at a cost of just over $985,000.
It contains not only classrooms and laboratories, but a meat processing plant and a judging arena. For many years the meat laboratory provided cuts to the University, including dorms and the hospital. It was closed in the mid-1980s, and it reopened in 1997.
The building was never officially named by the University.
