Data and Specimen Repositories (May 17, 2016)
The Office of Responsible Research Practices (ORRP) is offering a workshop on data and specimen repositories. This workshop will focus on regulatory requirements, IRB review considerations, and scenarios where repositories may be appropriate. While the session will be tailored to social and behavioral sciences researchers, anyone preparing IRB submissions is welcome.

Secondary Analysis of Data and Specimens (Jul. 14, 2016)
The Office of Responsible Research Practices (ORRP) is offering a two-part series on secondary analysis of data and specimens. This first session will cover determining whether review is required at Ohio State, how to determine whether the project constitutes human subjects research, and when Ohio State personnel need review for multi-institutional projections involving the transfer of data and specimens. While the session will be tailored to social and behavioral sciences researchers, anyone preparing IRB submissions is welcome.
Creating Data Management Plans with the DMPTool (Jul. 19, 2016)
Many funding agencies now require the submission of a data management plan along with a researcher’s grant proposal. In this session, we will discuss the information that researchers should be including in their data management plans. Participants will also l earn strategies for creating data management plans with the online DMPTool, which walks researchers through a funding agency’s specific requirements and expectations. Join Amanda Rinehart, OSU’s Data Management Services Librarian, for this hands-on workshop.
Grant Writing: An Introduction (Aug. 3, 2017)
Join us for this interactive workshop on grant writing. We will address some of the similarities and differences between the funding processes for federal/state agencies and private foundations. Topics include best practices for seeking funding, including the SPIN Funding Opportunities system and other funding resources, and examples of writing that is both persuasive and clear. Presenters include:
