Knowledge Bank Submission Instructions:
OSUL Research, Publications, and Presentations
The OSUL Research, Publications, and Presentations collection in the Knowledge Bank contains publications, presentations, and research of The Ohio State University Libraries' faculty and staff. Beginning July 1, 2012, Libraries' faculty will submit their scholarly articles to this collection under the Libraries’ Faculty Open Access Resolution.
If you are submitting a manuscript under the Open Access Resolution, please visit the Faculty Open Access Resolution page on Carmenwiki for instructions and help with rights issues.

Submitting your items to the Knowledge Bank
- Preparing open access manuscripts for archiving.
- Converting to PDF or PDF/A.
- Submitting your item. (Step-by-step submission guidelines).
- Adding Publisher PDF or final citation after publication.
If you are adding an author's manuscript to the Knowledge Bank, add any necessary information to the manuscript based on your publisher's requirements prior to archiving your PDF (or PDF/A) in the Knowledge Bank.
We also suggest adding a statement such as, "This is a peer-reviewed manuscript version. The final version will be published in (journal name)."
Make sure to read your publication agreement carefully and make any changes or additions to your manuscript before you submit, because files in the Knowledge Bank CANNOT be changed once they are archived.
Papers and slide presentations must be submitted in either PDF or PDF/A format. Microsoft Word and PowerPoint files will not be accepted for archiving.
Submitting your paper or presentation to the Knowledge Bank as a PDF/A file is preferred. For questions regarding converting your documents to PDF/A, please contact email@example.com.

Note: Please do not use spaces or special characters in your PDF filename. Spaces and special characters — such as [ . ] , ( , ) , ! , é , and ü — can prevent access to your submission via the Web once it is in the Knowledge Bank.

Also, please remember that the filename of your PDF will be visible to the general public.
- Go to: https://kb.osu.edu/dspace/
- Click on "Login" under "My Account".
- Select "OSU Login" and login using OSU account.
- Click on "start a new submission" (or "start another submission").
- Select the "OSUL Research, Publications, and Presentations" collection from the dropdown and click [Next].
- Follow the steps of the submission form.

During the submission process, you will be asked whether or not you are requesting an embargo (or delayed dissemination) for your work and, if so, for how long.
NOTE: As a repository for digital assets, OSU's Knowledge Bank acts as a permanent archive. All items submitted remain as is at the time of submission, just as books once published remain in the form in which they were printed. Files once placed in the Knowledge Bank will not be modified.

4. Follow-up to Your Submission
When your submission has been approved, you will receive an e-mail with a permanent Web address for your item. If you have requested an embargo, the file(s) attached to your item will not be available until after the embargo period. Items in the Knowledge Bank are indexed by Google and Google Scholar, but it may take a few days before you will be able to find your item in Google and Google Scholar.
Open Access Manuscripts After Publication: If you would like to add the final citation to the metadata, or add a final, publisher PDF version after publication, contact email@example.com.
