I earned a Bachelor's degree in Medieval and Renaissance Studies from the Ohio State University, and for the last three years I have been a Book and Paper Conservator and Preservationist at OSU’s Conservation Unit. In my undergrad I tailored my education to complement my hands-on conservation experience which allowed me to be a dedicated steward to the University Libraries and their wealth of material knowledge.

In 2016, I was hired as a Student Assistant Technician at the OSUL Conservation Unit. I have always been fascinated by the work: each book that comes through the door has lived a different life, making each repair a unique challenge. While earning my bachelor’s degree, I was awarded the Undergraduate Research Library Fellowship. My proposal, “Biblio-Archaeology” involved creating a comprehensive condition survey which, due to its flexible design, I have adapted for various projects at the Conservation Unit, and will continue to adapt and update for the vast collection at The Ohio State University. The majority of my work has been executed independently, but conservation is also a collaborative process. I would exchange new methods and techniques that would further my own independent work and, in turn, that of my colleagues.
