Martha Patricia Verdines-Arredondo is joining the faculty of University Libraries as the Engineering Librarian. We are still finalizing Patricia’s start date and will be happy to have her join University Libraries in the coming months.
In this role, she will serve as liaison to multiple departments in the College of Engineering. Patricia will establish programmatic approaches to building partnerships within the Ohio State academic community and beyond and will collaborate with other Libraries faculty and staff to provide research and instruction support for students and faculty in the College of Engineering. Patricia will report to the Head of the Sciences Group and, as part of the team, will work to identify emerging constituent needs, integrate information literacy into the curriculum, anticipate and respond to users’ research and information needs, and deliver Libraries’ resources and services.
Patricia received her bachelor’s degree in information systems engineering from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, México and her master’s degree in information engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan. She went on to earn both her master’s and doctorate in Library Science from the University of Maryland College Park. Most recently, Patricia served as Capstone Project Advisor for the Graduate School of Engineering at Universidad Regiomontana Campus Centro, México where she was recognized as a Top Teacher. Prior to that, she was a full-time faculty member in the School of Engineering at ITESM Campus Monterrey, México where she taught both undergraduate and graduate-level courses. She also served as Instructional Design Librarian at University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Libraries for several years.
We look forward to welcoming Patricia to University Libraries.
