ProQuest is retiring the Legacy RefWorks system. Legacy RefWorks will no longer be available beginning June 28, 2023.
Ohio State Legacy RefWorks accounts that meet the following criteria will automatically be upgraded to the current RefWorks system:
- Contain 10 or more citations -AND-
- User has logged in at least once since January, 2019 -AND-
- Account has not already been upgraded individually
If you meet all these criteria, you do not need to take any action; your account will be automatically upgraded by the end of the month and you will receive a notification from RefWorks once the upgrade is complete. You can learn more about the current RefWorks by reviewing the RefWorks User Guide .
If you do not meet these criteria or would like to upgrade your account yourself before the automatic upgrade date, you can follow the instructions on this Upgrading from Legacy RefWorks to RefWorks user help page to individually upgrade your account.
If you have already upgraded to the current RefWorks but continued to use your legacy account, you may need to go through the upgrade process again to ensure all of your legacy references have been transferred.
Please note: Accounts that are not upgraded will become inaccessible on June 28, 2023, and data from these accounts will be completely deleted after 120 days in accordance with the Ex Libris Data Retention Policy .
If you have questions or have trouble accessing your account, please check in with a University Libraries or Health Sciences Library librarian.
