Amanda L. Folk receives Ilene F. Rockman Instruction Publication of the Year Award

Amanda L. Folk, Head of the Teaching & Learning Department at The Ohio State University Libraries, has been selected as the recipient of the 2020 Ilene F. Rockman Instruction Publication of the Year Award by the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL). The award recognizes an outstanding publication related to instruction in a library environment published in the preceding two years and honors Ilene F. Rockman's professional contributions to academic librarianship in the area of information literacy.

According to the Ilene F. Rockman award committee, Folk's article, “Reframing Information Literacy as Academic Cultural Capital: A Critical and Equity-Based Foundation for Practice, Assessment, and Scholarship,” published in 2019 by College & Research Libraries, "[highlights] an important need in our field for scholarship that explores the relationship between information literacy and racial and social-class achievement gaps in higher education."
