The Wellness Rooms are to assist all Ohio State students, faculty, and staff; to provide space for individuals away from open work and study environments and for patrons to engage in quiet contemplation, to de-stress, reflect, or participate in wellness activities, including but not limited to, meditation, yoga, prayer, stretching exercises, relaxation breaks, breathing exercises, and/or mindfulness activities. 

Room Rules

  • Be courteous of others using the room. Mutual respect for others is expected at all times.
  • Keep noise to a minimum. Silence cell phones upon entering. Use headphones or earbuds to listen to music. No loud music is permitted.
  • No fire or open flame is permitted (including, but not limited to, lit candles or incense).
  • All personal belongings are to be removed when leaving the room.
  • Furniture must remain in the room. No items are to be moved from or added to the room.
  • The room is not to be used as a lounge or study room.
  • Food and beverages (other than water) are prohibited. 

Room Reservations

Thompson Library: The wellness room is not available for reservations.

18th Avenue Library: The wellness room may be reserved through this online form. Please allow 3 business days for a response.

Reservation Guidelines

  • University users may request to reserve the 060 room for organized wellness events/classes in alignment with the purpose for the room.
  • Requests for organized wellness event/class reservations must be submitted at least 3 day prior and can be submitted up to 2 months in advance of the proposed use.
  • Reservations for organized wellness events/classes are limited to 2 hours.
  • Reservations are not intended for individual personal wellness activities.
  • University users requesting reservations for longer than 2 hours or more than 2 months in advance may contact the Libraries’ Wellness Innovators to discuss the request.
  • When not reserved, the room is available for university faculty, staff, student, and patrons personal wellness activities.
