ILLiad Help

What is ILLiad?

ILLiad is the interlibrary loan request management system in which OSU faculty, staff, and students in degree-granting programs can make, track, and receive requests for articles, books, and more that are not owned or available locally.

How can I change the contact information attached to my ILLiad account?

To update your ILLiad contact information (e.g. phone #, email address), log in to your ILLiad account, click the "Tools" dropdown in the top navigation bar, and then click the "Change User Info" link. Make any changes and click the Submit Information button to save them.

As a disabled user at Ohio State, what should I do if I need assistance with ILLiad or interlibrary service requests?

Please contact Student Life Disability Services for assistance with our services.

Can OSU alumni or courtesy card holders use ILLiad?

Please visit your local public library for service. Residents of Ohio can use the Columbus Metropolitan Library’s ILLiad service.

Can I request a book chapter or a table of contents through ILLiad?

Yes! Use the chapter request form on the ILLiad main menu. In the pages field, you can denote the chapter pages or indicate table of contents, index, title or copyright page, etc.

Can I request Ebooks through ILLiad?

Ebooks cannot be obtained through interlibrary loan due to publisher license restrictions. But you can recommend purchase of an Ebook for the OSU Libraries collection and your use.

Can I request textbooks through ILLiad?

Recent textbooks are extremely difficult to obtain through interlibrary loan due to a lack of available copies at other libraries where they are checked out or on course reserve. Lending libraries also do not always give long loan periods for textbooks or allow renewals due to their popularity and wanting to make them available to other users.  We are willing to try and find a library willing to lend, but expect lengthy wait times and a potentially short loan period.
