Autumn 2020 Appointment Information
Planning your visit
The Jack and Jan Creighton Special Collections Reading Room will reopen
on Tuesday, August 25.
Appointments will be required and are available for scheduling during the following times:
Monday through Friday: 10 a.m.-12 p.m. or 1:45-3:45 p.m.
Consult with library staff
To get started, contact library staff for help to find and select materials for your research. Please contact us at email@example.com.
Appointments will be required during the initial reopening phase to ensure material can be prepared in advance and to comply with all COVID-19 safety guidelines. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an appointment.
Appointment date and time must be confirmed. Do not visit unless you have received your confirmation.
Reasons you might not get your choice of appointment:
- Hours are limited in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Number of appointments are limited in order to maintain appropriate distancing.
- Materials may not be immediately available depending on where they are housed and how recently they have been consulted by another researcher, therefore requiring quarantine.
- Staffing availability may require cancellation of appointment. You will be notified as soon as possible if this were to occur.
Protocols for safe and healthy research
If you are feeling ill or have any symptoms of COVID-19, cancel your appointment and reschedule at a later date.
We will ask that you begin your research with clean hands. Hand sanitizer residue is harmful to our collections. Please wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before entering the reading room. Restrooms are located on the first floor on both the north and south hallways.
Masks are required at all times.
All staff and patrons will maintain social distancing.
What to bring with you:
- Laptop or tablet (no public computers will be available)
- Pencil (or a new one will be provided)
- Photo identification
(No other belongings will be allowed in the reading room. A locker will be provided for any other belongings.)
A research application is required on the first visit of the academic year. Please download and complete the research application and return via email attachment to email@example.com prior to your visit.
