INTRODUCTION

Scott MacLeod is an American writer and performance artist who became active starting in the 1980’s. As a writer, he has been especially interested in found and appropriated text, which he compiles and/or manipulates in a variety of ways.He is also a maker of artists’ books, mostly one-of-a-kind compilations of found or discardable materials to which he has assigned a title and date.

His major literary works include Anne Frank in Jerusalem, Mein Glock, Der Heidenlarmer #1, Typografical Errow, and Litterature. He has taken his performance art throughout the US and Europe.

This collection, with material from 1970 to 2002, includes manuscripts, books by MacLeod and others, serials, publications of various kinds by MacLeod, artists’ or one-of-a-kind books, documentation and videotape of performances, audio taped recordings, correspondence, computer files on disks, photographs, artwork, and other material.
