    • Description of the trip to Iran where JWB took the photographs from this folder as well as individual descriptions of each photo: JWB, [December, 2003?].
    • Photograph of a small political shrine to the former Shah of Iran located outside of the great Tehran Bazaar taken a few years before the Shah was deposed by the Mullah Khomeini.
    • Photograph of the grand entrance to the great Tehran Bazaar in Iran. The entrance is constructed on the model of an entrance to a great mosque and contains inscriptions in Arabic script, many of which are religious in nature.
    • Photograph of small shops that flanked the entrance of the great Tehran Bazaar, these shops were for quick sales of goods, particularily to housewives whoe needed housewares in a hurry.
    • Photograph of the street of the copper and brass craftsmen and sellers in the great Tehran Bazaar.
    • Photograph of a street of jewelry sellers and shops in the great Tehran Bazaar.
    • Photograph of a section of the great Tehran Bazaar where ready made garments were sold.
    • Photograph of a copper craftsmen in the first phase of designing a copper object, the worker is beginning to make the intial lines and puncters that indicate the design on a sheet of copper. The worker could have possibly been designing a copper stencil for stenciling designs on material.
    • Photograph of the street of carpet makers and sellers in Isfahan, Iran.
    • Photograph of two young girls weaving carpets on a vertical loom. Many carpets, particularily the good ones, were woven by young women or teenage girls on vertical looms in accordinance with designs prepared by special male workers.
    • Photograph of a worker making secondary repairs and modifications to a carpet after delivery from the weaver.
    • Different photogograph of a worker engaged in the same task as in the photograph listed above.
    • Photograph of a typical bargainins session in a carpet dealer's premises. The man in the center of the scene wearing a street suit is the agent for a company that purchased carpets for overseas sales. The other men were various dealers and representatives from the weaving companies.
    • Photograph of the courtyard area of a textile stamping and craft producing facility that made what are called, "the U.S. India Prints." Some freshly stamped textiles can be seen draped over a railing in the photo.
    • Two photographs of a medieval mosque in Isfahan, Iran.
    • Photograph of a section of an eleventh century building with Roman style groined arches and Roman type brick construction that shows influence of both Roman and Medieval architecture.
    • Photograph of proto gothic arching somewhere in Iran.
    • Photograph of a complex Islamic groinging system that was used to uphold large arched gateways. This particular example features inlaid tiles.
    • Photograph of a famous damn ([Khaju Bridge?]) over the Zayandeh rud river, the main river bordering Isfahan. The architecture of the dam represents a modern adaptation of the early Islamic arches in the early mosques as noted in the photographs documented two and three listing above this one.
    • Photograph of the arched interior of the dam in the above listed photograph where young men and homeless people would frequently lie.
    • Photograph of the dome of the [Shah Mosque?] in Isfahan with a prayer minaret visible to the left of the dome. The mosque is the product of the architecture of the Safavid Dynasty of the 16th century.
