 Historical Note

The first Jesse Owens Track Classic event at Ohio State University was held during the dedication of the Jesse Owens Track on May 8, 1983. The track was located in the Ohio Stadium, around the football field. Track events were later moved to the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium when it was built in 2001. The Classic celebrated its 29th anniversary in 2014.

 Scope and Contents

The Ohio State University, Department of Athletics' Jesse Owens Track Classic Records contain programs from the Classic itself and related banquets, as well as a button and a pin worn at Classic events. The collection material dates from 1983 to 2019.
