 Historical Note

University Dames was founded at Ohio State University in 1912, founded nationally in 1921, and was an active organization until 1974. The organization was a social club for married women at Ohio State University, including the wives of students. University Dames regularly held meetings, exchanged recipes for a published cookbook, published an organizational magazine titled “Dames Digest,” and held elections for its council.

The University Dames Records contain financial records, reports, meeting minutes, yearbooks, member lists, scrapbooks, publications including cookbooks, and other administrative records related to the activities of the University Dames from 1912-1975.
