The Ohio State University Concert Band began with the Symphonic Band in 1929. In 1952, it became known as the Concert Band.</abstract>

            <head>Historical Note</head>
            <p>The Ohio State University Concert Band began with the Symphonic Band in 1929. In 1952, it became known as the Concert Band. The band played for commencements and held formal concerts, often accompanying University Chorus. As of 2019, the concert bands consisted of four divisions: Wind Symphony; Symphonic Band; Collegiate Winds; and University Band.</p>
