 Historical Note

The Biological Club of the Ohio State University and Agricultural Experiment Station was organized on November 2, 1888; a small group of students and professors interested in the natural sciences met to organize the club. Its purpose was to promote knowledge of the biological sciences and foster the spirit of original investigations in biology. Members discussed scientific topics from a variety of disciplines, gave reports on their recent research, and hosted lectures. After 1928, it became known as the Biology Club; it was last active in 1958.

 Scope and Contents

The Ohio State University, Biological Club Records date from 1888 to 1911, and contain the club's meeting minutes, as well as an invitation to a meeting commemorating the birth of Charles Darwin.
