Alpha Sigma Phi is a national male undergraduate social fraternity, founded in 1845 at Yale University. The Zeta Chapter at the Ohio State University was established in 1908 and was active as of 2018. It is one of the few Alpha Sigma Phi chapters that has been continuously open for over 100 years. The fraternity’s motto is “To Better the Man,” and they strive to achieve this through the promotion of their five founding values: silence, charity, purity, honor, and patriotism. Members are chosen by submitting an application and going through a selection process.
