            <abstract id="ref15" label="Abstract">As of 2018, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is a national social fraternity, founded in 1906 at Cornell University as the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity in the United States for African American men. The organization became interracial in 1945, and continues to focus on supporting minority students and the issues that affect them. The Kappa Chapter at Ohio State University was established in 1911, and is active as of 2018. The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Chapter Homecoming Pageant Program contain a homecoming pageant program, dated October 20, 2004.</abstract>

            <head>Historical Note</head>
            <p>Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is a national social fraternity, founded in 1906 at Cornell University. The Kappa Chapter at Ohio State University was established in 1911, and is active as of 2018. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity in the United States for African American men, and began as a study and support group for students who dealt with racial discrimination. The organization became interracial in 1945, and continues to focus on supporting minority students and the issues that affect them. Alpha Phi Alpha also promotes leadership, academic excellence, brotherhood, and community service, and advocates for the civil rights and human dignity of all.</p>
