The Panhellenic Association was initially established in 1902 from two different associations, the National Panhellenic Conference (1902) and the National Interfraternity Conference (1909). The National Panhellenic Conference was dedicated to sororities, while the National Interfraternity Conference oversaw fraternities. For awhile this organization was also known as the Women's Panhellenic Council, then the Panhellenic Council after the men's Panhellenic Council dissolved around 1925. The Panhellenic Association at Ohio State University was established as an undergraduate student organization to govern seventeen different sororities on campus. Both women and men were active in the club, serving on councils and subcommittees for the association. The Association helped with creating sets of guidelines and laws for each sorority and promote improvement of Greek life. As of 2017, the club was still active on the Ohio State University campus, but only served sororities.
