 Historical Note

Spectrum was a feature magazine supplement to The Lantern, the student newspaper at Ohio State University. The first issue was published October 29, 1976. Articles provided commentary and analysis on a variety of topics, and were written by students majoring in journalism. Spectrum was initiated in order to make The Lantern more like major metropolitan newspapers, which usually had magazine supplements, and to provide students with more publishing opportunities. As of 2018, Spectrum is no longer published.

The Ohio State University, Spectrum Proposal and First Issue contain the proposal for and the first issue of Spectrum, dated 1976.
