 Historical Note

The Social Board was a student organization at Ohio State University, active from 1946 to 1972. It consisted of around ten members, about half of which were students and half were faculty, usually including the Dean of Women, Dean of Men, and Manager of the Ohio Union. The purpose of the Social Board was to coordinate, regulate, and maintain financial stability of campus social events sponsored by other campus organizations. The Board issued social event calendars and bulletins, handbooks of rules for events, and lists of available chaperones and facilities to use for events.

 Scope and Contents

The Ohio State University, Social Board Records contain minutes, reports, publications, rosters, regulations, and other administrative files. Collection materials are dated 1907-1972.
