Student Court was a student organization at Ohio State University, active from 1927 until 1969. As the judiciary body of student government, it acted as a check of power for the Student Senate, the executive body of student government. Students could petition for hearings with the Court for traffic violations, Student Senate violations, and subordinate commissions’ appeals. Student Court was a sub-council for the Council on Student Affairs and consisted of seven students, including at least one woman and at least three students from the College of Law. All Court members were appointed by the Student Senate.
The Ohio State University, Student Court Records contain case files, as well as materials related to the management of Student Court, such as committee information, reports, procedures, and correspondence. Collection materials are dated 1937-1964.
