The two fraternities combined to form a national organization, Alpha Gamma Sigma, in 1931. Alpha Gamma Sigma, Alpha Chapter, is still active as of 2019. The Alpha Gamma Sigma Fraternity, Alpha Chapter Records contain correspondence, meeting minutes, member lists, and other administrative records from the fraternity, as well as drawings of alterations to the chapter house and legal papers related to the house.  Historical Note

Alpha Gamma Sigma was first organized as a local agricultural fraternity at the University of Missouri in 1923; in 1922, another local agricultural fraternity named Tau Gamma Phi was founded at the Ohio State University. By 1931, the two groups had become two of the strongest fraternities on each campus, and after weighing opportunities to affiliate with national fraternities, decided to come together to create their own national fraternity, Alpha Gamma Sigma. The Ohio State chapter became known as the Alpha chapter, and the Missouri chapter became Beta chapter. As of 2019, Alpha Gamma Sigma has 8 chapters across the United States, including the still active Alpha and Beta chapters.

At the Ohio State University, Alpha Gamma Sigma (AGS) fraternity brothers participate in intramural sports, host the Scarlet & Gray Midwest Showdown Steer Show with the Saddle & Sirloin Club, and work with sororities on philanthropic service projects. AGS is active as of 2019.
