The Vocational Information Council was a student organization at Ohio State University, composed exclusively of women. Its purpose was to provide women students with information on current career trends and summer job opportunities. To that end, they organized annual, multi-day conferences as well as meetings throughout the year, inviting guest speakers representing a wide range of careers. The Council was established in 1937 at the latest, however, similar women’s vocational conferences and meetings were held beginning in 1920, sponsored through other Ohio State University women’s organizations. The Vocational Information Council was disbanded in 1955 at the earliest and it is not active as of 2018.
The Ohio State University, Vocational Information Council Records contain scrapbooks and organization records dated 1938-1952. The scrapbooks demonstrate the Council's activities through fliers, instructional booklets, press clippings from the Lantern, and photographs of Council events.
